My name is Derek, and I am a senior at Mercer Island High School (MIHS).

I serve as president of the MIHS Coding Club, vice president of the MIHS BioChem Club, captain of the MIHS varsity tennis team, and a varsity rower at the Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center. I am also a dedicated builder of websites, video games, and a fully functional 1990s-style arcade table that I designed, cut, wired, and assembled from raw plywood. This year, I am building rockets and CPUs.

Whether it’s  technology, athletics, engineering, or leadership, I approach each commitment with enthusiasm, execute it with discipline, and remain committed until the objective is fully achieved.
