The Break Continues...

Work continues on my CPU project… Not much to say here except that I am in still working on stuff. BTW, heres a cool couple of pictures I took while climbing a mountain during my birthday!

Digital Logic

Whew. A lot has happened since my last update on our CPU project, and I have been really busy. Unfortunately, a lot of stuff is still in the pipeline, so I still cannot write about these, but I do have a new development. Bitwise Logic Operations In addition to arithmetic, the ALU also needs to perform basic logic operations. These are housed in the Comparator, inside the ALU. These include AND, OR, XOR, and NOT. They are implemented by running each corresponding bit of the two 8-bit inputs...

Second Week: Problems (!) & Solutions (?)

This week: many problems come up and many solutions come to mind. I also refine my focus and collect more information.

Taking a break

Don’t think for a second that I have forgotten about my aerodynamics studies; I have just been working on the foundation for it. I just got my junior membership from Tripoli in order to be insured while operating my rockets. I also printed out my first rocket designs, which I will begin to iterate on to find the best ones. My birthday is next week, so I may slow down on blog posts in the interim.

Start of the CPU Project

I have started building an 8-bit CPU with some friends.
