Clubs/Summer College Programs: MIHS Coding Club, MIHS BioChem Club, University of Chicago: Summer Session ‘24, University of Michigan: Michigan Math and Science Scholars ‘23

I started my high school career in Mercer Island High School (MIHS) by joining the MIHS Coding Club in Freshman year. This is where I made many of the connections that carried me through high school and also gave me a place where I could demonstrate my mastery of coding and engineering skills. I was voted as the President of the club in my Junior and Senior year and have taken us from disqualification to strong competitors in all of the fields that we compete in. In Sophomore year, I joined the MIHS BioChem club, as I loved chemistry and the prospects of learning more. I was voted as Vice President in Junior year and have helped plan events and advertise the club.

The first summer college program I took was at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2023 where I learned game theory and statistics in a grueling 2 week course. It was my first time seeing others with similar passions to mine and ignited a fierce drive to continue on my academic endeavors. The other was at the University of Chicago in 2024 where I took a course in Astrophysics to further my interest in Engineering and Physics. These were one of the most formative 3 weeks of that year, where I gleaned mountains of information from the course and made friends from around the world that I am still in touch with to this day.
